Thu 11th, Cape Crawford to Mataranka

We were on the road early after a fast half hour pack up. No sign of the Fox who was still at the Heartbreak Hotel.

We catch up with the Fox at Daly Waters where we stop and have a look at the pub which is quite interesting inside.

From there we continue on to Mataranka where we finally find the ranger station. He assures us that enough of it is open to make it worthwhile for a visit. We can't swim in the riverndue to the croc threat but can soak in the feeder creeks.

We drive out to the Jalmurack camping area and setup camp then go for a walk and soak ourselves in a feeder creek.

I get my solar panels out and set them up. No action, no lights on the panel controller. There is a broken wire on the anderson lead connector. The controller is glued in, no connector screws are visible, there was no protection against the lead pulling or moving and ultimately breaking, crap construction. Prise the controller off and start pulling it apart to see how the wiring is secured. Inaccessible micro-screws for heavy wiring, not impressed. I'm going to look for something better. Plan on getting to Katherine early on Saturday morning and see if we can pick up a controller or a soft panel.

Cold meat, smoked chicken marylands for dinner
