Sun 28th, Nullagine to Mt Robinson rest area.

Left our showers to the morning. Chris had a cold one, mine was OK.

Packed up and on the road again. The first 70km of the road from Nullagine to Newman is dirt then it goes to bitumin. Scenes from that road follow:

Flood plain after the road turns to bitumin, then more boring straight roads until we reach Newman.
Stop in Newman, go to Woolworths for provisions. The shopping centre liquor outlet is shut for the day. Go to the visitors centre which unfortunately has nothing on Karajini. Find a couple of open bottle shops at the pubs, fairly narrow expensive selection. No casks in the Pilbara! newman is very much the mining town, most people in town, both male and female are wearing their high visibility reflective work gear.
Leave Newman and continue onto the Wanna Munna rock carvings, it is all a bit dry and dusty to camp so we decide to continue on. We stop and checkout the Mt Robinson rest area which is a bit off the main road and decide to stay overnight despite the presence of an expensive caravan with a noisy cheap generator. Jeff, Helen and Chris for for a walk into the local gorge while I write up the blog.

I've done it again, put the memory card into the iPad without write protecting it. This time there is no quick fix of a file to delete. I'm going to have to get a USB stick and copy the photos to that then reformat the card. Bugger!

Generator is only run for a couple of hours then turned off, not too bad. Our dinner tonight is sausages, mash and surprise peas.
